October 2001. Mixed train leaving Silverton. This is one of my favorite images. I love the ambience. It looks cold, dark, and wet, like real railroading so often is. And I love the details. The soft glow of the class lights, the round dimples of the pole pockets on the pilot beam, the brake wheels sticking up from the roofs, and the marker light hanging out from the caboose. Wonder how long it has been since those pole pockets were used. This was a Dave Gross charter. Thanks Dave, and lets do it again.
